A New Day

A gorgeous sun rise and fragrant lilies bloom.
One week ago an F1 tornado tore through my home town causing much devastation. We just had the wicked winds and rain. One tree on our road fell taking hydro lines with it closing the road and knocking out power for a couple days. Nothing like what they got in town for sure. Trees fell on homes, cars and roads. You just want to reach out and help, but at this time it is wise to let the experts do their job and let friends know you are here for them. Till next time.....

  1. Hi Margaret! .. just found your blog today and I am so glad of it. We had a tornado last November and our neighborhood was devastated. We lost probably 13 homes on our block, thankfully no one was injured. There are a couple of homes being rebuilt now and still lots of repairs going on. We had a tree on our garage and a few minor damages .. 2 house from us the house ended up in the street. It was really a traumatic experience. Thoughts and prayers are with your town.

Looking forward to following your blog! .. have a great day!

  5. Oh, Marg -- I'm grateful you and yours were all right, but how very frightening to have this so close and affect others you know. It is a tough time of year.

Thanks so much for visiting and following The Marmelade Gypsy! It is delightful to "meet" you!

  6. So glad you are all right, but devastation to others hurts too. We had one a half hour from me too.

  7. Hi Marg - glad you didn't receive more damage than what happened. Such an awful tornado. And you are right - the experts know how to do it productively and 'people' just get in the way early on anyway.
    Blessings
